How many times a day do you say: I hate my thighs, my love handles are disgusting, I wish my nose was smaller, why couldn’t I have bigger boobs?
Over and over, day in and day out, we are punishing ourselves; too fat, too thin, too tall, too short, and on and on and on. What did our bodies do to deserve such cruel treatment!?? You are your own worst critic and it’s time to STOP!! You are worth it! You are beautiful, just the way you are!
This week, I want us ALL to get on board with Operation Beautiful!! Let’s STOP the negative comments and focus on the positive! What do you like about yourself? What is your best feature? What is the one thing that makes you happy? Let’s LOVE ourselves and help others do the same!
I want you to turn every negative comment in to a positive one. Change: I HATE to I LOVE. LOVE WHO YOU ARE!! God gave us one body, we need to take care of it from the INSIDE, out!
I started your BEST self program “backwards,” because it is my belief that if you discover the reason why you have been keeping weight on or developed disordered eating and deal with THOSE issues, then the rest is simply acquiring knowledge in nutrition. One of the goals for being your BEST self is realizing that you are more than what you weigh!! I think Operation Beautiful is an amazing project and I literally cried watching the video I shared with you today. I hope that these messages will help you appreciate yourself!
My goals for you this week:
- Write out 10 POSITIVE comments about yourself!! Leave an Operation Beautiful note (for yourself or for others…I shared mine)!
- FIDGETCIZE : 5-10 a day!! Get up and get moving!!!!!!
- Exercise: Who could forget?? Amp it up to 35-40 minutes of cardio/strength, 4-5 times this week. Really get in to it! Push yourself!!
Let’s learn to love our bodies!! STOP THE NEGATIVITY!! YOU CAN DO THIS! Be an active member in the Operation Beautiful Project!!! Only when you really learn to love your body, do you actually want to do good things for it!! If you have a blog, wouldn’t it be great to share an Operation Beautiful note everyday this week? Give us all some beauty inspiration!!!
Check out the Operation Beautiful website!! It’s truly empowering!!

This is great! We have to love ourselves before we can give it away. Thank you!
I’ve been so caught up in wanting to weigh myself lately, this is a really good post. Thanks!!
what a wonderful and positive post!
Fidgetsize! I love that! I need to bake some more of that into my days, too!
Love it! I just wrote an Operation Beautiful post last night too. Love your goals!
10 positive comments. You got it. I’m going to make sure I say 10 positive things to strangers today too!
Erin, Love this series and am going back now to read the rest to get caught up. Your energy in your writing is intoxicating. I look forward to following you. Thanks for following on Twitter! Enjoy your day. =)
This made me smile. <3
i. love. this. post
seriously – weight does not define us at all! its all about how we present ourselves to the world and the people around is. Confidence > weight.
i love the idea of writing down 10 things about us that are positive/good! i will def. do that when im having one of those less than confident days.
I saw this the other day and was really inspired by it. I’m going to do it!
What a beautiful post! I love it!!
So happy this helped you!!!!!!!!!
“God only gave us one body and we need to take care of it from the inside, out.” LOVE, love, love! Thank you for expressing this in words. As I do every summer, I have gained a bit of weight from the BBQ’s, beer and ice cream. The important thing is that I recognize it and make the tweaks necessesary to feel like a better me. I REFUSE to weigh myself because I don’t want to get down on myself. This post just helped me realize I’ve made the right decision!
I think in the end, loving yourself is the most crucial and yet the hardest thing to do. We are all programmed to be our own worst critics. But it’s definitely worth working on!
I’m slowly beginning to learn to counteract the negative self-talk with positive self-talk instead. It’s a struggle to actually compliment myself, but I feel so much better when I do!
I just wrote out 10 positive things about myself and.. it was way harder than I thought it would be. I forced myself to complete it though and it felt so extraordinarily nice to write down why I am beautiful.
Thank you for yet another wonderful post. <3
What a great post. I was a part of a group in college called IDEA (Individuals for Disordered Eating Awareness) that shared the same slogan…”You are worth more than what you weigh.” It’s one of my favorites. I love the post it notes on the Operation Beautiful website.
Also, your blog has received the Sunshine Award! Stop by my blog to pick it up
Congrats!
I agree that negativity needs to STOP. I love keeping positive quotes posted everywhere to remind me!
Thank you so much for this post…for some reason I woke up this morning with a nasty case of the uglies. I felt ugly and my mood soon followed. It is so important to love and appreciate our beautiful and unique selves. This is just what I needed to hear!
I think the biggest thing that helped me was just to work out and eat healthy for what it does for my body’s well being instead of a number on the scale or what I see in the mirror. Then I felt like I could let the vanity side of it go and didn’t have to nit pick myself so much. I still have my moments where I will look at something and think “Ugh” but I really love being able to believe I am beautifully made and that my body deserves respect.
