Grilled Blackened Salmon

Salmon is my very favorite type of seafood, not only for its health benefits, but also because of its versatility! I have literally tried it in dozens of different recipes and have enjoyed each and every one!

Some health benefits? Low in calories and saturated fat, high in protein and omega 3 fatty acids (which boosts heart health), and a good source of Vitamin D!! Sounds like a winner to me!!!!!!!!!

Earlier this week, I was looking for a new, SIMPLE, spice rub for the salmon fillet we picked up at the market. I found a fantastic website called For The Love of Cooking and discovered the following combination of spices that wowed our taste buds!! This rub made the salmon super moist and just a teensy bit spicey. WARNING: This recipe makes a lot of rub!! Be sure to save most of it for another time, unless you are feeding a big crowd! A little goes a long way!!

I wanted to change a few ingredients to lower the sodium but Brandon started throwing the spices together before I had time to mention my intentions. Oh well, such is life. Maybe next time.

In the meantime, give this rub a try! I think you will be pleased! Oh, and I paired it with my Paella recipe (minus the turkey sausage). If you have not yet tried Paella, please give this recipe a go!!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
