Today I wanted to address 6 diet “DOS” that I feel are important whether you are trying to lose weight or not!! Just by following these six tips, you will be on your way to feeling FIT AND FABULOUS!
- Feel Satisfied After Each Meal. One of the most common diet mistakes is skipping meals! I am still shocked when I hear the great lengths people go to to skimp at meal time. Just know this: even if you are trying to lose weight, food is an essential component! No skipping meals! Skipping meals can lead to intense hunger and binging later on; not to mention guilt and shame that follows soon after. If you are going to become a healthier you, it starts with avoiding typical diet blunders! Eat until you are satisfied!
- Variety is the Spice of Life! Who wants to eat the same thing day in and day out? Talk about boring!! The more variety you include each and every day, the more nutrients you are giving your body! So switch it up!! Try a new fruit or veggie each week and try not to eat the same meal two days in a row! Surprising your taste buds will help with meal satisfaction!! Try out some of my recipes today!
- Drink. Drink. Drink. Be sure to quench that thirst with plenty of H2O!!! Water is going to help you burn calories, give your metabolism a kick, and keep your tummy from rumbling! If you feel thirsty, you are probably already dehydrated!! Bottoms up!
- Find a Buddy! The way to be successful in weight loss is to keep motivated! What better way to do that than with a buddy! Find a friend and make a commitment to each other!
- Move it! To compliment a healthy diet, one needs to exercise. You will not only burn more calories but you will increase your energy levels and muscle tone! Sleek, sexy, muscles? Yes please!
- Make Your Health A Priority! Last but not least, we all need to make our health a priority! Think about what those whole foods are doing for your body and what those processed, fast foods are doing to hurt your body. A slow and steady weight loss plan is going to bring lasting results and show you how to live a balanced lifestyle! Let’s all strive to eat for health first!
QUESTION: What is your favorite exercise?

Very good tips. I think they are helpful and achievable. I especially like the variety tip. You can easily get sick of eating the same thing day in and day out, and this can lead to binging or just eating a bunch of crap. Change it up everyday and find new foods to love! Why not?!
Great advice. These are a must do in my book!
Great tips! I love running and yoga. What about you?
As you probably already know I love yoga and walking. Simple but fun activities I can do whenever I have the time. I hate it when I have to schedule my exercise and stick to it
I liked the “DO’s”, I made my bf to be my healthy eating buddy since he rarely cooks and it’s easy because we eat the same food
great post! i know i started losing weight once i started getting hydrated. it’s amazing how water makes everything in your body run better.
and running is definitely my favourite exercise. it amazes me that i started 5 years ago and i’m still in love with it as ever!
Im amazed how many people skip meals. I realize that I used to do it all the time, but I cant for the life of me figure out HOW. I look forward to every meal and every snack. Theyre totally the best parts of my day!
My favorite exercise is running. Everything about it makes me happy – I love it!
Great tips! Staying fit n’ healthy is really basic, common sense stuff, you know? You summed it up quite well (it’s hard to believe there’s a multi-billion dollar industry in this country devoted to books, videos, and programs that make it much more complicated!) My favorite kind of exercise is undoubtedly exercise DVDs–I have a 6am date with them on weekdays
First of all, I’ve been out of the loop for awhile so I’m a little late in saying this, but I LOVE your new header! It’s super cute, but also professional looking. The site looks great
I think these are definitely important tips even for everyday life. My favorite exercise is running. I love just being able to lace up my shoes and hit the road. It’s so freeing
I couldn’t agree more with “make your health a priority”! I know so many people who say they don’t have “time” to workout and I think that is the worst excuse EVER! MAKE TIME! Your health should be very close to (if not) the #1 priority in life IMO!
Yes! I get so sad when I hear women talk about skipping breakfast or lunch…this behavior isn’t good for our bodies. Food should never be the enemy! We need whole, healthy food to fuel our bodies and our minds. Thank you for sharing some great positive messages with us…these are important to remember in a world full of diet “donts”
My favorite excercise as of late is running. I don’t know where it came from because for the past few months I’ve been all about weight lifting and cardio-hating..but I’m loving it now!
My favorite exercise would have to be plyometrics or intervals. I love how both get my heart pumping like crazy.
Great tips!! I see so many patients skip meals. I couldn’t imagine. That is one of the first things I think of when I wake up in the morning.
I do struggle with water. I drink quite a bit but still not as much as I should.
I love running and crossfit.
Great post! I need to working on the drinking part.
It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut!
Well… as you know, I do love my running…
But I’ve become a fan recently of resistance bands- they’re my new favorite type of crosstraining.
