Morning friends and happy 1/11/11!
I don’t have much to report this morning; since we ate leftover mushroom and bulgur veggie burgers for dinner last night and I re-organized my closet, after feeling very motivated from Kristen, The Swanky Dietitian!
I’m also trying to compile thoughts for future posts and just don’t have anything for you today!
SO, without making this post completely pointless, I DO have something small for each and every one of you, should you take advantage of it. This morning I ordered Sun Warrior Raw Vegan Protein Powder from iHerb.com. After placing my order, I received a code that I could provide other first timers to receive $5 off their purchase.
THE CODE: CUY753
Enter this code with your purchase and you will receive $5 off!
I would suggest visiting the site. They have many nationally known brands of natural health products that are slightly cheaper than buying directly from the producers site. All I’m saying…worth checking out! Go HERE.
And with that, I decided to end this brief post with some Rocky style work out motivation:
If this song doesn’t motivate you to get your butt to the gym…I don’t know what will!!
QUESTION: Have you used Wheat Berries before? If so, can you link me some recipes?

Thanks for the shout out! I hope it went well! You definitely have to be in the mood for some closet organizing that is for sure.
I have not tried wheat berries but have always wanted to. I am eager to hear the recipes you get!
I have never used wheat berries, but have always wanted to. I get questions about them at work sometimes so I should definitely experiment with them sometime. We do sell a wheat berry salad at work but I’m not the biggest fan (I think it’s sort of bland). I know AllRecipes.com has some great recipes.
Thanks for reminding me … I need to go work on my closet.
I always picture myself crossing the finishline of a marathon to that song
Music is the ONLY thing that gets me to the gym! Gosh, nothing like a great playlist!
A couple of years ago I was playing doubles tennis with a women who kept getting right in my face and saying, “Eye of the Tiger! Eye of the Tiger!” (And she was on my side.) I guess she thought I should be more aggressive or something. Anyway, ever since that day I can’t listen to that song.
Wheatberries — I remember Ina Garten having a “famous” wheatberry salad. Check out FoodNetwork.com under her recipes. Am pretty sure wheatberries are one of those grains that must be pre-soaked overnight, so it can’t be a last-minute dinner idea.
my big butt is going to go “eye of the tiger” some mexican instead of working out. But then again I don’t have a choice. haha I promised my friend I’d go!
xoXOxo
I haven’t cooked with wheat berries yet, but I would really like to. I have had them in salads and I LOVE the ‘bite’ they give you when you eat them. I do have a recipe, but haven’t tried it yet, for wheat berries with brown butter and pecans, that sounds good to me. If you are interested, come visit my blog and email me! When I saw the “Eye of the Tiger” I thought you were referring to a particular yoga practice in Anusara which is also called the same thing. I’ve never taken a class like that, but I hear it’s pretty awesome. Glad to know that you’ve got a song that gets you going…mine is “Suddenly I See”.
Hoping you’re having a great start to the new year!
seriously! best song ever!
I love this song!! I use it all the time in my workout classes!
My husband would love this post, he is obsessed with Rocky AND that song
Smile. This was a fun post to read right before going to the gym. Thank you for the motivation and for the code! I want to give this stuff a try!
I have heard about iHerb from Averie, but have yet to check it out. I SERIOUSLY need to crack down on my grocery budget. Especially with a baby on the way.
I replied to you on my blog with your questions. I will definitely add something about supplementing into my post, or one of the parts if I break it up. Hopefully you like the Sun Warrior better than I do. MANY people in the blog world RAVE about it. And I think it’s one of the best as far as being all natural and safe!
Since I was a Mizzou Tiger, this song is a DEFINITE solid on my playlist! I don’t know how many times I heard it at basketball games…
Oh, thanks for the code! Love the Rocky clip at the end!
I love that song! I put it on all of my racing playlists
Hehe I did another kettlebell workout this morning at the gym and this song is JUST what I could have used!! I didn’t even realize it was 1/11/11 but thanks for the reminder
