I’ve decided to start an “I’m Lovin’ It” series. Each week I will discuss 2-4 new finds that I’m LOVIN’!! I hope to inspire YOU to try something new!!So here goes nothing…
1. Jack LaLanne Power Juicer. I’ve always said I would prefer to eat my calories, however, it seems I’ve been converted. I am officially a juicer. I bought the Jack LaLanne power juicer about a month ago and my husband and I love the medley of flavors we can create with such a wide variety of fruits and veggies. Who would have known that beets blend so well with fruits or that celery makes such a refreshing addition to just about any juice blend? We’ve currently been blending some of the pulp back in to our concoctions for added fiber but there are plenty of other ways to use it: bake it in to breads or muffins, add it to marinara sauces, or mix it in to casseroles! We’ve honestly become juicing fiends!! It’s such a nutritious way to start the day! I’m lovin’ it!!
2. NuNaturals. Last week I received a huge package of goodies from the company NuNaturals. They sell products made with the Stevia glycoside, Rebaudioside-A, an FDA approved component of the Stevia plant. Stevia is an all-natural herbal product that can be substituted in place of refined sugar and artificial sweeteners in food, beverages, and baking, with virtually ZERO calories. It also has a negligible effect on blood glucose, making it an ideal sweetener for those with diabetes.
Stevia has been used safely for centuries by native Indians in Paraguay and the Japanese have been cultivating Stevia since the 1970s! The sweetener now makes up 40% of the Japanese sweetener market and after more than 40 years of use, there have been no reported harmful effects.
I have recently used the NuNaturals Baking Blend in homemade protein bars, no bake cookies, and brownies, with extremely pleasing results. I was really impressed by how well it substituted, without any major changes in taste or texture. While Stevia has been known to have a slight licorice aftertaste, I did not find this with the NuNaturals products! I’m really excited about this brand of Stevia Product! I’m lovin’ it!
*I susbtituted half the refined sugar in my brownies with the NuNaturals Baking Blend and there was no difference in taste or texture.
Check this page and get a free sample! NuNaturals.
3. Tangelos. A tangelo is a hybrid of a tangerine and a pomelo/grapefruit. They have a distinguishing knob-like stem and deep orange color. I found these the other day at The Fresh Market for only 98 cents a pound! I brought them home and found them to be incredibly refreshing!
Peeling is effort-less (a super plus), they have a slightly milder taste than a tangerine, and they are extremely juicy. Tangelos are also about 30-60 calories and an excellent source of vitamin C and flavonoids! A medium fruit provides ~6% of your daily calcium needs and 3 grams of fiber! I’m lovin’ it!
That’s all for today my friends! Have a wonderful Monday!
QUESTION: Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
Your health is a direct reflection of how you choose to live.

No but I am dying to try a juicier! I know they are expensive though so I just need a little convincing to justify spending the money right now
I have the same juicer and I love it as well!!
Hmmm… I’ve been considering a juicer for a little while. I’ll have to keep this in mind. It’s not on your list, but I’ve been LOVIN’ my new kitchen aid mixer!
Oh I want a juicer SO BAD! I’m jealous. I love tangelos too, so yummy. Easy to peel is definitely a huge selling point.
I haven’t tried nu-naturals, and I don’t have a juicer…but I have tried veggie juice from a juicer and liked that!
I recently tried the green kombucha flavor, does that count???
oh yay! i actually have some NuNaturals waiting for me at home!! cannot wait to try !
I’ve never tried any of these products but I’m very curious about the tangelos. Sounds delicious. Can I find these anywhere or only at specialty stores?
Don’t let me be a buzz kill! I researched juicers a while back and discovered that the nutritional benefits are only found in a certain kind but they’re RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (which is why I don’t have one) http://www.happyjuicer.com/juicing-information/gerson-therapy-juicers.aspx
can’t wait! thanks girl!
But there isn’t much that tastes better than fresh juice!!! Yum! You just talked me into eating an orange!
as always….love your posts!
hooray! i’m going to pick up some tangelos tomorrow! I totally forgot they existed!!!!!!
I LOVE MY JACK LALANE!!! I have been juicing a TON and making crackers from the pulp, evoo, flax and whatever seasoning I am in the mood for. SO GOOD!!!
Glad to hear good things about the juicer, I’ve been thinking about getting one forever and I might be getting closer to pulling the trigger finalls!
So happy you are loving your juicer! I want to get that one since my cheaper Jack Lalanne busted
I need to try NuNaturals! It’s all over and everyone seems to like it!
My juicer is coming this week!! I’m so excited!
Have you tried cucumber in juices? It is my absolute favorite. (Cucumber, pear or apple, lemon and parsley is probably favorite combo)
Love the idea of a juicer! I’ve been thinking about getting one for a while. I love tangelos…they are awesome!
I am loving tangelos too! I’ve got a couple each week with my produce delivery. It’s such a fun change from plain old oranges.
I have been wanting to get a juicer, I just haven’t been able to fit it in the budget yet!
I love reading about the products other people love! I definitely would like to try the NuNaturals – I’ve never tried stevia but I am all for natural sweeteners!
Are tangelos the same as minneolas? If so, they’re awesome. My favourite citrus.
Thinking about buying a juicer:) What a great way to get those servings in!
Also I wanted to let you know my classes (I teach 6th grade) the video of the Okinawa woman. They were so impressed! We were reading a short story about a Chinese family and the foods they eat. All my students know are the Chinese buffets. It was cool to see their reaction to the video! They couldn’t believe how active the people were in the community. They also commented on how colorful their meals were.
Thanks again for a great site!
Ok Erin, I recently wrote a post about resisting the urge to purchase a juicer and now I read your blog this morning and I’m back to wanting one! Please tell me, how is the clean-up with your juicer? I’ve heard that clean-up is a pain (unlike the Vitamix where there is basically no clean-up). I love tangelos. But I’m not a fan of the taste of stevia — at all.
I’ve never tried a tangelo! They sound fab – can never get enough citrus
.
I’m lovin’ the “I’m Lovin’ It!” series already!
I’ve never used a juicer (unless hand orange juicers count!), but it seems like everyone who owns one loves it. I’m a huge NuNaturals fan…I think their stevia tastes better than any other brand on the market. Lucky you for receiving so many samples! And tangelos=YUM. Haven’t had one for awhile!
Wow! Now there are three more products out there that I want to try!!!!
I’m lovin’ this post! hahaha
Tangelos sound fun! I’ll keep an eye out for one
Oooh I haven’t tried NuNaturals yet but I’m dying to! I have a big problem with artificial sweeteners that I’m trying so hard to kick but haven’t been able to eliminate them yet.
If I had your juicer, I’m sure I’d be lovin it too! I’m a smoothies kind of girl, but haven’t had the whole juicing experience that you and other bloggers have been raving about… hopefully it will happen soon!
Every time I see the infomercial, I want a Jack Lalanne juicer! They look awesome. I have tried NuNaturals–all the time, actually! Haven’t had a tangelo, but I had a minneola recently.
