I’ve been desperately trying to play catch up this week…with work, sleep, eating, cleaning, etc., so I apologize if the old blog has taken a back seat. I promise next week I will come back with some stellar posts, but for now…I just want to share with you what I have been LOVIN’ these past couple weeks!
Oh and please don’t forget to join me in my efforts to spread the word about eating LESS meat in May! Remember, it doesn’t have to be cold turkey, just whatever YOU can do to eat a little less meat in May!! If you are a blogger, join some of my other friends and add my button to your sidebar to share with your own readers! Such an important message! (You can find the code underneath this button on my left-hand sidebar on my HOME PAGE) Thanks friends!!
1. Avocado.
While I was in Hawaii I ate a lot of fresh salads. One of the on-going trends with every menu was that at least one salad option contained avocado and it was some of the best avocado I’ve tasted! So I’ve kind of been on an avocado kick since I have returned!
Avocados are almost 75% monounsaturated fat (the good kind) and are an incredible addition to any diet. They have 60% more potassium than a banana, are rich in the B vitamins, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K, and are a great source of fiber! Perhaps you could try adding avocado to your next salad instead of grilled chicken, as part of your efforts to eat LESS meat in May! I’m LOVIN’ It!
2. Lone Survivor.
Lone Survivor is a book about the true story of Marcus Luttrell, the lone survivor in the 2005 battle where four Navy SEALS set out to capture and kill a strong al Qaeda leader. Just from reading the prologue, I can tell you I had tears in my eyes. This is a remarkable story and I have never had more respect for Navy SEALS and any other member of the military in my life. I can honestly say that I have a new perspective on war. It’s common to hear about horrible events happening oversees but when they don’t directly affect you it’s easy to forget what others are really doing out there. We should ALL be praying for each and every one of our military every, single day. They do what almost all of us would never want to do and that takes real courage, strength, and guts. Please take a moment to remember those that ARE fighting, those that HAVE fought, and those with whom we have lost, in a battle that seems to never end. I’m LOVIN’ this book!
3. Jillian Michaels: Ripped in 30.
She’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Okay so she never left, but Jillian is out with a NEW! workout DVD that is sure to get your heart pumping and calories burning! I bought this DVD before I left for Hawaii and sampled the work outs while I was there. Let me tell you, I was SWEATING! There are FOUR, 20 minute workouts, each getting progressively harder as the weeks progress. Start the month in the first level and as each week goes by, continue to go up in levels, finishing the month in level four. You will feel invigorated after JUST 20 minutes and all you need is a simple set of hand weights and the determination to make it to the end! I’m LOVIN’ IT!
QUESTION: What are you LOVIN’ this week??

I am definitely going to need to check out that dvd!!! Looks fab and I so need to get ripped!
xo
I never thought I’d say it, but I do like Jillian Michaels’ workouts! I don’t like it when she gives nutrition advice, but her workouts are amazing. I’ve been doing them on exercise TV.
Nick and I had First Watch for breakfast yesterday and his omelet had avocado in it. I swear it made the omelet taste amazing. We were both in amazement as to how much better it tasted just with the avocado!
Yay for Meatless May! I am going to post something this week about it. I love the idea!!
I will have to pick up the new Jillian Michaels DVD. I have No More Trouble Zones and it just kicks my butt.
I’m LOVIN’ my new workout. It’s mostly stuff you can do at home, without equipment. It’s more convenient. Especially because I don’t have to deal with weird guys at the gym checking me out! AWKWARD!
Jilian Michaels has come along way in terms of marketing and branding herself as a fitness expert
I love that new dvd by Jillian. Her No More Trouble Zones is still my most favourite, but this one is pretty cool!
I love avocado, it makes such a nice addition to salads or spreads etc.
I am currently loving zumba, nice weather and watermelons!
I’m loving fresh raspberries this week. First of the season, and so good! Have a great weekend.
I didnt know Jillian had a new video!! I need to get that. I love her workouts. Always leaving me sore
I’ve been doing less meat this May! When I make my salads I always add 1/4 of an avocado! I’m obsessed with them.
Miss you (and your posts) glad you’re back. I like your list. I am an avocado lover too- in smoothies, in salads, as snacks (yes snacks). That book sounds like a gripping read, did you read it before or was it coincidence you were reading with the recent capture? I will check you that DVD clients always want ideas and I don’t do DVDs for workouts, any others you love?
I am lovinggggg black beans right now! I cant seem to get enough of them and have been having them almost every meal!!! Have a great weekend girl!
I want that new Jillian DVD so badly. I’ve been debating buying it all week long.

AHHH A NEW JILLIAN DVD!! LOVE!
Yum, I love avocado! The first week after vacation is always so hard. Hope you have a great weekend:-)
So thaaat’s the jillian you were talking about! I’m glad you found something fun and fresh that still gets the job done. BTW, I’m really loving bananas right now. Is that a lame answer???
I love the fact it IS the weekend
This week felt extra long. I love grocery shopping so I look forward to doing that and doing some house hunting by viewing a few options! SUPER EXCITED about that.
I LOVE AVOCADO!
I’ve been loving avocado too ~ in salads, in pasta, as guacamole.
I am loving our sunshiney weather and green smoothies filled with tons of fruit
I’m lovin’ the fact that I found your blog. Lots of info and good tips, plus how can you pass up avocado? I love avocado and have been looking for innovative new ways to use it, too, in my weight-loss project.
I agree with Angela, I’m loving your Hawaii pics. I’m also loving a bag of Udi’s granola I bought at the beginning of the week and can’t leave alone. I buy this only once in a rare while cause it’s pricey (but worth it) and I can’t stop eating it (danger).
Just found your blog and love it! I had no idea there was a new Jillian DVD. She’s my default for rainy days. Must try this one!
Lone Survivor is an AWESOME book! Keith and I read it together. We took turns reading it out loud to one another every night. So good!!
I’m lovin’ avocado this week and every week! It’s so delicious and versatile!
I’m also lovin’ pastel nail polish, afternoon cappuccinos, peanut butter + chocolate chips and coconut milk ice cream.
Happy Friday, Erin!
I’m loving your Hawaii pics! Gorgeous!
This week I’m loving almond milk! I finally went with unsweetened instead of vanilla and it’s fab.
Have a great weekend!
