It’s been just over 2 months since I got RID of the scale. My self-confidence has improved (look what I’m wearing…hello!!), my stress levels have gone down, and I’ve made more time to really take care of myself; more yoga, Pilates, and stretching!! I’ve honestly never felt happier OR had more positive body image days. Letting negative thoughts consume a full day is a day wasted…no?
I’ve even decided to study to become certified as a personal trainer and eventually a yoga/Pilates instructor (if all goes well). It’s slightly harder than I thought it would be, but it’s worth it!
Today I want each and every one of you to reflect on how you have felt about yourself in these past 2 months. If you got rid of the scale (like me), has your self-confidence improved? If so, I would LOVE to hear from you! If not, what’s holding you back? I would LOVE to hear from you too!!
Please send me an email with your story to: thehealthyapron@gmail.com. I would love to feature you in an upcoming post! Looking to fill 5 spots!! I would appreciate ANY confident readers out there (whether you have a blog or not!).
Thanks friends!

Would love to do this but fear “losing control”… what if i just keep getting bigger?
So glad to hear your confidence has improved and it sounds like you’re making really good decisions for yourself!
What PT cert did you go with??!! That is sooo exciting!!!! I too have felt much better after nixing the daily scale routine.
I’m so happy about your confidence! I didn’t partake in your toss the scale, but I don’t use my scale and would love to share my thoughts about it if you still need to fill a spot.
[...] PROGRESS: 2 Months with NO SCALE! [...]
I agree. My parents took the scale out of our bathroom when I was in middle school and started to feel self conscious. I personally think that if you are eating healthy and have a regular exercise routine, there is no need to weigh yourself. I’m so happy for you!
I still like my scale just because I’m curious how much baby weight I’m gaining, but I’m so happy you feel so great without yours! I used to let me scale determine whether it was going to be a good or bad day, but I’m so glad those days are so far behind me. You’re looking fabulous!!
You look fabulous and you sound just as amazing! Good for you! I have had a great 2 months – taking vacation “off” from workouts and remaining active was great, and getting back to regular workouts has been really rewarding. Sometimes you need a break from the norm to keep things interesting and fun.
I’m so happy for you!!!
Good for you! Getting rid of my scale was one of the hardest/best things I had ever done. You will be much happier without it– guaranteed.
And congrats on deciding to become certified for personal training! I can’t wait to read about it on your blog (I’m planning to pursue my own certification in a year or so
)
The scale helped me with making progress and accountability but now that I have reached that place, I feel SO much better without it. I only have to be accoutable to myself.
You look GREAT!
And yea – personal training info is a TON!
Let me know if you have any questions about becoming a trainer
Great job! I am proud of you:)
Good for you! That’s awesome! I try to stay away from the scale and I definitely feel a lot better. For me, I prefer to use how I’m feeling and how my clothes fit!
This post makes me happy! I love when people see the beauty that is within themselves!!
…Slowly I am getting there! It helps that it is summer and I have more time on my hands but I am realizing that aging has a whole lot to do with it too. I’m just getting to know myself better and what trips me up AND what makes me happy! …I’m just pleased to be on the road to self love. There was a time where I didn’t even know there was a road….
You’re an inspiration, Erin! Keep it up!
AWESOME!!!!! So amazing
When i dont step on mine for a while I feel great!
Congratulations!!! I know how good it must feel.
Hmmm I have not gotten rid of the scale but I definitely don’t use it everyday. Through the years I’ve learned that weight is really just a number – what matters is how fit and healthy I am! Good luck on becoming a certified personal trainer!
That is awesome!!! I would love to be a personal trainer as well as a RD!! What a great combo. And how good does it feel to have lost the scale. I got rid of it a LONG time ago and it will never be back!!
Good job on getting rid of the scale!! And look how flexible you are, I don’t think I have done a backbend since high school!!!
Wooo, go you!! I definitely need to get rid of my scale; it doesn’t do me any good.
That’s awesome about the trainer stuff too – congratulations!!
way to go on getting rid of the scale! i recently decided not to use my scale, too (i can’t get rid of mine since other people in my family choose to use it). i feel healthy, happy, and well-nourished. my happiness scale is much more important than any number ever will be.
Yay! So pround & happy for you! You look great Erin!
I didn’t get rid of my scale but I only used it once and I feel great! I never really was bad with weighing myself too much but I would do it daily some weeks. I hope you continue to feel better and better!
Congrats on feeling so good after ditching the scales!
And good luck with all the personal trainer stuff! Thats a goal of mine too, I really hope to achieve it at some point this year! Excited to hear how it goes for you so feel free to post away about your experiences with it all!
That’s incredible that you’re going to become a personal trainer and an instructor!!! PLEASE share more about where you’re doing that because it is a goal of mine to do that as well one day. I just want to find the right place though. Good luck!
Would LOVE for you to post Jess!
you go girl!!
Good for you! I’m a little jealous of your back bending pictures right now
YAY!!! So happy for you!! I have to say, my confidence has improved by leaps and bounds the past two months, largely due to the barre n9ne challenge I just finished, but also because I’ve been so focused on finding mental strength and building confidence that way. I’d love to do a blog for you if you have room!
Great to read how good you’re feeling about yourself, and that’s exciting that you’re thinking about becoming a personal trainer! I am seriously impressed with that backbend! Stretching is one of the areas I really need to work on. I used to do backbends as a kid, but haven’t been able to o one in quite awhile…Looking forward to reading about your journey to becoming a personal trainer!
You. Are. Awesome.
Yay you! That’s great. Good luck with personal trainer stuff. I bet you’d be a super instructor.
So glad you got rid of the scale Erin…that is one thing that keeps my eating disorder patients stuck in their eating disorder. It is just a way to body check to make sure nothing has changed. I hate scales so much. Occasionally I will step on one and when I say that maybe 3 times a year due to going to Dr’s visits ect. I have leaned to understand that my body is not going to do anything that does not feel comfortable for it and all I need to do is eat what I am craving with at least 80% coming from nutritious foods and exercising at a reasonable amount. I having lots of catching up to do on your blog, but hope all is well!
